We are in urgent need of as much support that we can get too keep an 8 year old girl in our lives and stop her being put into care solely due to a housing issue.
Most people locally will be aware of the little girl we currently have living with us, and know how her whole world fell apart in September 2019 after her Mum lost her battle with cancer.
We were lucky enough to be trusted to care and look after this little girl by her mother who was a neighbour of ours before she passed away.
We have past every assessment and test that all the authorities had put us as a family through , and our application was looking very positive, we have the support of the social services, independent assessors, her guardian and her solicitors.
Last week we were delivered a bombshell after we were told that unless we move to a larger house by the beginning of March we would not be accepted by the foster panel to be permanent carers for her, so have been on the housing list bidding for larger properties but although we are on the highest banding we still havent got anything larger due to us not having local connections out side Mid Devon.
So our question to everybody is
Should this Poor little girl that has lost everything be taken away from us and put into care solely because we don't have a big enough house ????
