Hello to ALL of our Supporters we have another Update #4 for you.
We have confirmation of a hearing date in Sacramento in regards to AB:1145 (Bill). We will be heading up to Sacramento in April to go in front of the the Transportation Committee to let them know that the publics safety is in danger on Hwy 74 (Palms to Pines) and it's imperative that this Bill passes. We will be updating the Petition so that you know and understand what the Bills intent and language is. I will do my best to have this updated ASAP for you. I have attached a link where you can request a Portal Login to send a "Letter Of Your Support" of the Bill. The more voices they have about your dangerous experiences on HWY 74 is greatly needed. We will NOT be silent and hope that you feel the same. All you need to do - is give your information and they will send you an email for you to create a password for the Portal. We will continue to update you as it comes.
These are some points that you may want to have in your letter.
- Truck Dangers of weight (80,000 plus pounds on the steep grade is too much)
- Double Axel Trucks/trailers are too long and can't stay in their lane. If trucks are over 30 feet kingpin to rear axel they should NOT take Hwy 74.
- Hwy in bad condition due to heavy trucks. (Caltrans never expected this to be a trucking route like it is today and we cannot wait until 2028 for repairs)
- This is not a Freight Trucking Route
- Trucks avoiding scales
