We would like to thank all of you for supporting our petition asking for the Topaz Museum Board to release the video of the removal of the Wakasa Monument from the Topaz site.

It has been less than two weeks since the petition launched and we are close to 500 signatures! If you haven't already shared the petition with your network of contacts, please consider sharing now!

The Topaz Museum Board held their first in a series of in-person and virtual community outreach meetings last Saturday, July 30. No member of the board was present. Here is an article written for the Nichi Bei Weekly about the meeting:

Unfortunately, the Topaz Museum Board members rarely, if ever, speak publicly and refuse to meet with the Wakasa Memorial Committee in an effort to work out their differences, these public meetings are the only chance to bring up issues and ask for explanations about the monument removal at Board-approved meetings. The Board says it will use the results of their survey and these meetings to propose a plan for future treatment of the monument.

We encourage anyone who is concerned about how the Wakasa Monument will be preserved and interpreted for future generations, to attend one of the remaining meetings:
