Campaign Update
Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign — 888 online signatures and over 500 hard copy signatures show that the people of Enfield care deeply about the safety of this junction.
Meath County Council's latest response confirms that engineers have assessed the junction, traffic calming measures will continue, Gardaí will monitor the area and road safety education has been delivered. However, despite repeated requests, the Council has still not agreed to meet with the wider school community or meaningfully consider the practical solutions put forward by parents.
The decision not to replace the School Traffic Warden appears to have been made. While that is extremely disappointing, our fight is now for a safer junction.
We are the people who stand at this crossing every morning and afternoon. We see the near misses, the traffic light breaches and the risks our children face. Our lived experience deserves to be heard alongside engineering assessments.
We will not allow this issue to be quietly closed. The people of Enfield deserve better, and we will continue to press Meath County Council to work with the community to deliver a safer junction before a tragedy forces change.
