Will Justice ever prevail?

Just as I suspected - - The trial was scheduled multiple times throughout 2025, and then got rescheduled just before it was to take place. The same thing happened in 2026. It was initially scheduled for January, then March, then April. I almost thought it was actually going to happen April 21-23, 2026, only to be disappointed once again at today's pre-jury trial hearing.
However, once again, the jury trial is canceled - - but unlike other cancellations which were scheduled one, three, six, 9 months out - - this one is different. This time it's been set for a plea trial hearing April 23rd at 10:15 a.m.
I'm not sure what to make of it. I thought he pleaded not guilty to the charges long ago, which is why the hearing was going to take place.
I know he's not innocent - - I know he's guilty. I spoke with the brave victim that came forward, shortly after the incident many years ago. It was almost like deja vu. There's a pattern to his deviousness. He has an MO--which always seems to be harming innocent victims that is close to one of his siblings. Additionally, the way that his extended family initially approaches the victim immediately after the situation and then does a complete 180 within days - going from telling you how sorry they are, how much they love you, how much they will always keep you safe, how much they want to protect you---to suddenly being despised in finding yourself on the receiving end of their absolute disgust and hatred. Rather than grieving together - - individuals who had become almost like family to you, suddenly treat you like you are the number one enemy of the world.
I've spent the last 4 years attending all kinds of hearings and conferences, awaiting her trial that would finally allow me to feel like there was some sort of justice to my daughter's rape.
My daughter is rape was a major pivotal point in my life. My daughter went from being a happy, energetic, brave, loving, caring, and adventurous child to being angry, sad, fearful, hateful, shy, and withdrawn. Regardless of how much I tried to do for her whether provider with unconditional love, provider with therapy or shower her with gifts - -her gentle spirit and her innocence vanished forever. It's been 15 years - - and I can assure you, even time hasn't healed the wounds of the past.
But 15 years ago, I made a promise to her that if she would just cooperate with law enforcement--justice would be served--and that others would be warned about her perpetrator if she was brave enough to come forward and tell her story. We were told that her perpetrator was a registered sex offender, and we expected that he would have been on the registry, and that she would have been safe in public places - - however, the courts need the case disappear from public searches - - and the fact that her perpetrator was a sex offender has been hidden from the public view for the last decade and a half.
As far as being safe in public places due to identity checks - - that was just a fallacy - - so many organizations use software that never text for perpetrators such as her offender - - perpetrators who are on the private private registry. Perpetrators who the public would consider to be the least likely to offend, but yet are the most dangerous of all perpetrators because the public is left uninformed.
We were told that somehow attending some serious juvenile sex offender program that he was going to be rehabilitated - - and never engaged in improper sexual practices again - - but statistics suggest a much different story. Statistics are consistent with the fact that a second victim did come forward - - and that over the summer someone had tried to obtain a restraining order against him due to his concerning behaviors.
However, the individual is unable to get the restraining order because investigators were unable to substantiate his history of such behaviors because the information they needed to approve the restraining order was hidden in the private area of the judicial files.
The sex offender registry is created for a reason - - it was created to provide awareness to the public about individuals that have an established history of committing very heinous crimes in order to protect themselves--and an incomplete registry just creates a false sense of security and does far more harm than it does good to society - - yet society demands having a registry because they want to be informed - - they deserve to be informed when someone capable of such heinous acts inhabits their local community.
We were told that my daughter's offender would finally be seen on the public registry once he was convicted of another sexually related crime. And his history shows - he seems to have a type--he goes after young thin athletic flexible girls.
At the time my daughter got raped - -despite his age, he already had three sexually related charges against him from other contact with other victims--but given this graveness and severity of my daughters charge - - the counts of the other crimes were merely read in during my daughter's trial - - though I still don't understand why they had to be connected to my daughter's trial at all.
I don't fully know what will happen at the plea hearing in April. Will he change this please from not guilty to guilty - - or have the court elected to offer him some deal - - again - - ignoring the judicial errors in my daughter's case--such as filing the case as a juvenile case rather than adult case - - because they mistakenly thought my daughter's dance teacher who had nearly come to support my daughter during the trial was somehow her private legal representation? Or failing to recognize the long intense pattern of sexually inappropriate conduct that the perpetrator has engaged in as well as the sentencing and intensive treatment that he received from my daughter's case - or has his concealment as a registered sex offender on the private private registry inadvertently provided her perpetrator with a clean slate - - while my daughter and I have been scarred for eternity?
I cannot fathom the courts offering him a plea deal for continuing to engage in inappropriate sexual activity despite the intensive treatment, therapy, leniencies, and opportunities that the courts have already granted to her perpetrator.
When the record of my daughter's rape trial vanished from the system - - it seemed like the courts were trying to erase the tragedy that the perpetrator instilled upon our family. However, hitting deletes or making a file disappear - dad doesn't take away the pain or the trauma that the victims of a perpetrator suffer. While victims often want their names redacted from the files, the files substantiate the reality and the recognition of the courts that the crime that was perpetrated upon them was real.
The physical, mental and emotional trauma that my daughter and I have experienced from the perpetrator haunt us to this very day - - we want the crime to be recognized - - we want the public to be informed of the dangers that the perpetrator presents.
I have waited 15 years for my daughter's perpetrators name to appear on the public sex offender registry - - if having drawn out this case for the last 4 years has somehow weakened the courts desire to fully hold my daughter's perpetrator accountable for engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with another victim, I will be devastated. He has been over 20 years old for this entire period of time - - but yet it was that's drawn out for 4 years, while my 9 year old daughter, who weighed less than 50 lbs, was forced to participate in an expedited trial within 5 months of the rape?
Please do not allow my daughter's perpetrator to plead to a lesser charge just because it's convenient and less traumatic for those affected--All of the players in this crime were at least 18 years of age at the time the crime was committed. It is about time that her perpetrator is held fully accountable for his actions rather than provided with additional leniency. I'm sure as a perpetrator maybe it might be embarrassing to admit to his behaviors or maybe it's difficult for him to listen to his victims speak of the heinous behavior that he had engaged in with them - - however, he needs to take accountability and responsibility for his actions - - and stop trying to find an easy way out - - as his victims never had a choice or an opportunity to have the trauma the perpetrator instilled upon them reduced or weakened.
He needs to take accountability for his actions, and recognize the evil actions that he has done, and if he has any sort of empathy, experience the devastation that he has inflicted upon his victims. Allowing the perpetrator leniency and putting him into the intensive program didn't seem to do much for him 15 years ago, when he exhibited absolutely zero empathy. But if somehow he has developed a sense of empathy between then and now, forcing him to finally take responsibility for his actions and having him truly internalize the pain that he inflicted upon his victims, and finally provide the perpetrator with the insight that he needs to never perpetrate again.
Despite it being 15 years ago--it still feels like the rape just happened yesterday. There is absolutely no excuse for his haters behavior. There is absolutely no excuse for him to have penetrated my 9-year-old daughter at knifepoint when she was barely the size of a first grader. The rape absolutely destroyed the loving and caring relationship that I had with my daughter - - she's hated me ever since the rain because she's never been able to experience the justice that I always promised her.
Despite being a registered sex offender, her perpetrator fails to maintain his responsibilities of being on the registry - - he fails to forego going to areas infiltrated by youth and fails to adhere to other conditions of being of the registry.
The perpetrators' actions destroyed any sense of safety and security that my daughter felt in this world, and created a never-ending sense of fear within her. His actions turned what had been a peaceful and tranquil home into an unforgiving prison for my family and I.
It's been 15 years - - in the perpetrator continues to engage in behaviors that frighten the community around him - -Justice is long overdue - - it is time that's society is finally made aware of my daughter's perpetrator, it is finally time that the courts recognize the serious danger that my daughters perpetrator brings, and I pray But it will finally be time that my daughter and I can experience some sense of justice and closure to the devastation that her perpetrator has inflicted upon our family.
