Lismore City Council Support Animal rights and Rescue Group by making a yearly donation.
The issue
We request that the Lismore City Council provide a financial contribution to the Animal Rights and Rescue group, based upon the valuable work done by this organisation for animals, the public and people in crisis, WITHOUT committed funding this community work cannot continue.
Animal Rights and Rescue a non-kill, foster-care, self-funded group, we are a non-profit volunteer organisation. The Animal Rights and Rescue group, rescue homeless or unwanted animals, provide them with care and shelter until suitable homes can be found for them. Our 'foster carers' and volunteers are all unpaid, monies donated is used directly to help the animals.
Animal Rights & Rescue (ARRG) rescues many unclaimed animals from three local pound weekly that would otherwise be killed.
ARRG provides a service to many local Agencies such as: Lismore Hospital, Richmond Mental Health clinic. Department of Aged & Disability, Women’s & Child refuge. We provide temporary care, food & vet support & rehoming for their clients pets in times of crisis.
ARRG responds to neglect/cruelty cases when RSCPA is not available & the police need help.
Since 1995 Animal Rights & Rescue has rescued and rehomed over 10,000 unwanted animals from death/suffering and safely rehomed them.
ARRG also provides real animal welfare programs:
ARRG has provided urgent vet treatment for many sick animals, when pet owners face a financial crisis, are disadvantaged or homeless.
And provides affordable desexing assistance for people in genuine need, for pets that would otherwise not be desexed, and this program to date has prevented many thousands of unwanted kitten and puppy litters from being born. Preventing unwanted animals that later end up in shelters or pounds.
