So due to my latest post I have received some backlash from member’s in the community for the fact I am throwing a principal under the bus, and that my information is incorrect. For the people I have offended I apologize, and completely understand your love of this principal, but what I do not apologize for is telling the community what I have heard from the majority of the teachers in this district who are afraid to speak out about this. I am their voice. I find it hard to believe that so many teachers from this school would get together and plan to ruin the reputation of their principal. I have always said what is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong. In this case I choose to believe the teachers who struggle with this every day. I know that these statements are going to hurt my political career, but there comes a time when you have to stand for what is right regardless of the backlash you receive. I took on the job of helping our teachers and students and this is what I am going to do. If this causes me to lose some votes in next year’s election then it just will. I am here for our schools teachers and children not a popularity contest or a title. To all that wish I remove the post about the LLR article and what is being done wrong at an LISD school, I apologize to you, but it will continue to stand as written. “Ethics are not necessarily to do with being law-abiding. I am very interested in the moral path, doing the right thing.” Thank You, Jason Bates
