Penndot sent letters out last week about cutting ALL of the trees down along West Fourth St. for a new road curbing and wheel

chair accessible updates and new gas lines. They said it will damage tree roots and no trees can be saved and no replanting is planned except some near Dunkin Donuts. There is a technique that could have been used called boring. It would save tree roots so trees could live. There is only one standing black walnut tree left on 4th and they plan on killing it. So many beautiful trees that protect us and create biodiversity are going to be destroyed unless we come together as a community and stand up for the trees so they can stand tall and beautiful for years to come for our children and grandchildren to enjoy and to keep the air clean along 4th, protect our homes and to provide habitat  for wild life. The mayor and the city of Wmspt needs to catch up w the rest of the planet and realize trees are sacred. Please we need your support. Let Pendot and the city of Williamsport know its time to take a stand and implement tree saving protocols go beyond the old ways of just ripping what gives us life down with no consideration fpr future generations....make a difference take a stand...save our trees!!!
