Tonight is the final vote on whether the first Linn County utility-scale solar rezoning is approved. This sets a precedent for all future applications.

Citizens from all areas of Linn County have voiced reasonable concerns around setbacks, decommissioning, responsibility for natural disasters. Based on previous meetings, it seems as through the majority of the board feels this is best for Linn County and is letting the developer drive what considerations are reasonable. 

Please attend tonight's meeting to show your opposition to this project. Our county NEEDS to see that the residents do not want our countryside industrialized for the gain of an out of state company in the form of tax credits. A utility-scale solar facility in Minnesota performed at 20% annual capacity for the last three years. There is NO reason this should move forward. Many resident concerns continue to go unanswered. Our county is putting the interests of a developer in front of the betterment of the residents. Show them that this is unacceptable by being present at the meeting tonight.
