Your Presence is NEEDED! Support Rural Linn County!
Linn County is quickly approaching the final steps for permit approval in the Coggon solar application process. There are 3 consideration meetings that will be held to decide 1. if they are permitted to develop 800 acres of prime farmland into a commercial electricity generation facility and 2. if approved, to what requirements they are allowed to develop including setback restrictions from a residence.
WE NEED YOU to join us at this meeting. You may not live in Coggon, but this will impact all Linn County residents. The decision made on this application will set the precedent for future application requests, including the project planned for Palo and western Linn County.
I totally understand life is busy, I get it. If you oppose this project for any reason, now is the time for you to support. There are MANY MANY MANY concerns that are going unaddressed, issues that concern property values, fire and disaster response plans, scale of the project, irresponsible siting and loss of productive farmland to name a few.
We NEED you to join us, to support us, and bring several friends. We must show our opposition as many to speak volumes at these meetings. I know this is a big ask and it is. These 3 meeting days are our only opportunity to let our county leaders know that this is not good for Linn County and to urge them to vote NO to the Clenera application.
Now that you have read my ask, I'd like to ask you to please add these dates to your calendar and plan to join me and others as we fight to protect our rural community and way of life against industrialization.
