We NEED your support! Today in Linn County at 1pm, our Board of Supervisors will discuss our request for an 18-month moratorium on industrial-scale solar plants in our county. This is a huge step for us in our efforts to evaluate and work with our county to improve our existing renewable energy ordinances. There are additional steps that are needed to ensure proper regulations are in place to protect our county residents, our county resources, and our environment including our natural conservation lands over the life of this project.

This situation is unique in our country and in our county. Through our research, we cannot find another scenario where such a large utility-scale solar plant is proposing to develop so close to a river, conservation areas and wetlands, and residential density. There are thousands of homes that will be impacted by this project. We need to take time to ensure proper and specific regulations are in place to manage developers.
