This petition has been created as a means to show exactly how unpopular their decision to close off Line Wall Road seems to be. This petition will be presented to Government. 

Some valid points that have been made -

-Access to City Mill lane and engineers lane is affected. Effects on businesses and residents not taken into account. 

-No immediate improvements on bus routes or addition of further buses. 

-Increase in traffic in the near future not taken into account.

-Only Queensway. One road left that connects south/north bound traffic.  Leading to congestion and defeating the point. 

-The green initiative looses its sense when nothing is done to reduce traffic coming over the border. 

The amount of planning that went into the GSLP manifesto for a greener Gibraltar, yet they have decided to take a leaf out of Together Gibraltar’s book instead. Without taking the rest of the advise that went with it. The planning or study as to why this move will result in a reduction in traffic instead of a spread, is unfounded. Many avenues I am sure have been looked into more than this one. 

Line wall road is a road that is vital for people in the south travelling north and vice versa. People that will still need to use their car regardless. An unprecedented decision to be imposed, one that will affect many and one that the majority did not vote for. 

Many issues and concerns were raised on Viewpoint by the GSD, the ESG and even Together Gibraltar.
