I have found a very disturbing article from NPR in regards to using an AI Chatbot. In this article, Matthew and Maria Raine were trying to live their normal lives but instead had learned of their son, Adam taking his own life at 16 years old with long conversations he had with ChatGPT. What made matters worse was Adam typed in ChatGPT about his suicide thoughts and the chatbot told him not to get help from his parents but instead offered him to write his suicide note in which it resulted in Matthew testifying before Congress and telling them that they can remedy families all over the country from suffering losing family members to suicide with the use of AI Chatbots, especially their children. If there is anyone all over the country especially families suffering from their loved ones going through suicidal thoughts or a crisis, I strongly encourage them to not use an AI Chatbot but instead should call the suicide and crisis hotline, 988. And also this is why I created this petition to strongly encourage everyone not only in the USA but also globally to limit the use of AI. Once again I also strongly encourage everyone to sign this petition to encourage everyone including loved ones in the families in the United States to limit using Chatbots but most off to avoid using Chatbots for suicidal thoughts or for coping with a crisis and once again please contact the suicide and crisis hotline 988. For those around the world going through a similar scenario there are many different hotlines for other countries. We got this!
