The FIRE FIGHTERS ELIGIBLE GROUP has been notified by Councilmember Joann Ariola that she will be hosting a hearing of the Committee on Fire and Emergency Management to discuss EMS career Paths and FDNY promotional exams. This will be our opportunity to explain the need to raise the age for the promotional exam for those affected by the delay caused by the pandemic. The meeting is Monday June 5th at 10AM at City Hall. Members of the board along with some of your peers will be giving testimony on why an age waiver is to be granted for us. It is with the utmost importance that we come out and attend in full force to show that this is a serious issue that affects many of us. If you are available that morning and care about the work that we have done and want the opportunity to be a NYC Firefighter then you must be there. Bring your family, friends, and other members who are affected by the delay in the exam. If you are unavailable then send someone in your place. Start spreading the word on the station level for more members to join our team. This is our time to come out and be heard! Thank you all for your hard work and support during our pursuit of reaching our main goal. Please respond in a separate email if you plan to attend. We would like to get a rough estimate on attendance. We are another step closer to be able to have the opportunity to be NYC Firefighters.
Respectfully,
The Firefighters Eligibles Group
