I corresponded with David Nasser and Ashley Lison, the head of LU Stages (which manages convocation scheduling.) They are aware of the student body’s interest in Rachael as a speaker, her husband’s enthusiasm about making it happen, and the petition. At this point, it’s technically out of my hands. But there are still things YOU can do to make this happen: 1) PRAY! If this is in God’s plan, it doesn’t depend on us. 2) Go to LU convocation on LU’s website and click “Suggest a Speaker” to submit Rachael Denhollander as someone YOU want to hear from. There’s a lot of bureaucracy surrounding convocation, so now that the administration is aware of the petition, the best way to get their attention while still respecting the process is to submit a formal speaker request.
