Dear friends,
Thank you so much for signing the petition in support of the Buddhist community here on Prince Edward Island.
Your voice matters. Together, we have stood up for a group of peaceful practitioners who have given so much to our island — through compassion, service, and quiet generosity.
As you know, they are facing troubling accusations suggesting ties to foreign political agendas. These claims not only misrepresent who they are, but they also threaten to divide our community through fear and misunderstanding. Being of a certain background or origin should never be grounds for suspicion.
Let’s be clear: this is about protecting the freedom of religion, the right to peaceful assembly, and the dignity of individuals who have done nothing but try to live and serve quietly. There is no evidence of wrongdoing — only rumors that cause harm.
I encourage you to continue to speak with your neighbours and elected officials about the importance of truth and inclusion. If you feel moved, please share the petition link again with your circles. The more people who know the facts, the better chance we have of turning suspicion into understanding.
From my heart, thank you again.
With gratitude,
Lynda Kelly
