Lets Reduce Plastic Waste In The Ocean

Masalahnya

Good morning everyone, we are students from Sekolah Highscope Bintaro. Our goal is to send awareness around the globe and share our knowledge. As students, we would love to take good care of our environment. The massive problem that I would like to focus on is the huge amount of plastic waste in marine life. Our plan is to spread awareness around this school and publicly share what we know about this problem.

The marine ecosystem is where living things such as the corals, fishes and others. These things are essential to completing what you would call a balanced ecosystem because it contains many living things and nonliving things. If even one was  harmed, the ecosystem would be imbalanced.

Nowadays this problem is happening a lot in indonesia  that is because of the plastic waste thrown into the ocean every year the the cases of this problem slowly increase so my goal is to reduce the number. This becomes a problem because people aren't even aware of this problem which is why me and my teams goal is to share our knowledge and invite others to help.

Marine waste is one of the main problems that is currently ongoing. Marine waste has many negative effects. This problem concerns both living and nonliving things. The problem is that we throw away millions and billions of plastic each year . Every year the number increases. Those plastics that we throw break and kill the coral. The fish that we eat also digest the plastic making every time we eat fish there will be a chance to digest those microplastic which increases the rate of cancer. It also damages the human cells, decreases reproductive health, and disrupts the endocrine system. In 2023 the whole world threw a staggering amount of plastic with the total being 12 million tons of plastic was thrown into the ocean. In many places because we throw so much plastic a trash island was made. According to the data from Koordinasi Nasional Penanganan Sampah Laut, Indonesia each year humans throw a total of 600k tons of plastic waste in 2018, and by 2022 that number has decreased to a total of 400k tons.

The solution that could help this massive marine problem is to minimize the use of plastics so that we could decrease the amount of plastic used. Another solutions that we all could follow is that we start recycling plastic so that we still use the leftover plastic and so we could make the marine life a little bit cleaner

We as humans should also start sharing our knowledge and understanding about this problem so that all of us could decrease the amount of plastic we use and ensure a save environment so that we could not only keep a safe and balanced ecosystem and also to ensure a better future for the next generation

That's all for our petition. I hope you can understand more about this problem that is going on in indonesia. Lets do this for the better and for a clean environment. Together we can decrease the number of plastic waste in our ocean. Thank you for reading and sign this petition!
