Here is an update on the current situation following the second resident dialogue session on 14 June 2025 with NParks, MP Alex Yeo and his team, and some of the caregivers involved in the Bidadari dogs’ care.

1. Corral removed, trapping operations ceased for now
The corral at Bidadari Park has been removed, and NParks has temporarily stopped trapping the dogs. They shared during the session that the number of incident reports has significantly reduced since the canvas barrier was put in place.

Trapping has stopped, but only for now. It has not been ruled out. Yet with more people in the park, the dogs have caused no harm. This further supports what we have maintained all along: these dogs are not aggressive and do not pose a threat to the public.

2. Water beads and open cans were serious lapses by NParks-appointed contractors
NParks confirmed that water beads were brought into the corral area by one of its contractors, reportedly by mistake. That contractor was later replaced, but the second contractor engaged by NParks left open cans at the site, which they described as unintentional littering.

Regardless of who carried them out, both incidents involved contractors working under NParks. These were serious lapses in oversight, and NParks remains responsible for the actions of those it appoints.

3. Canvas barrier remains
NParks is exploring sturdier and more permanent barriers to replace the current canvas. For now, the canvas will remain in place.

4. Monitoring and feedback
NParks will continue to monitor the dogs using surveillance cameras. They will also handle any feedback from residents directly moving forward.

5. A place they call home
We reiterated our hope that the Bidadari dogs will be allowed to live out their lives peacefully in the only home they have ever known. This was met with silence but no objection.

This is a small win and we remain cautiously hopeful. Thank you to everyone who has spoken up, shown up, and stood by these dogs. Your support matters.
