This partially explains why the powerful resistance to the use of the Bank of Bank Act of 1938, our politicians no longer answer to the people, their bosses are oligarchs. One such oligarch family here in Canada is the Desmarais family, owners of Power Corporation of Canada (PCC). This family was instrumental in electing Trudeau senior to power in the 1970's and I think that it is a fair assumption that they helped Justin Trudeau last year. This same family married a son to Jean Chrétien's daughter, another establishment Liberal prime minister. Considering that PCC would have benefited greatly by becoming a lender to the Government of Canada as of 1974, you may conclude who Trudeau senior was answering to back in the 1970’s.
