More Older People in the Workforce Could Boost GDP

Prof John Piggott from the School of Economics at The University of New South Wales recognises the value of a mature workforce. Yay! Even if only a fraction of us work, we older workers can contribute to overall national output. And each of us can help to increase GDP (= prosperity) over the longer term. That's a valuable contribution....if we can turn Prof Piggott's well thought out words and calculations into action. Where are those innovation programs that are designed to lure mature workers into the workforce? Where are the incentives for employers to consider our skills and expertise? Where is the evidence that working will send us to an early grave? It's time to focus more on the positives we bring to the workforce. We must keep driving change, justice and equality for older workers. So far 4682 people have signed the petition and we need many more to give our voice power to match our passion. Please help boost the number of signatories by sharing the petition in your social media, with your friends, colleagues, local opinion leaders and your local politicians.
