Had A Meeting At The Office of Assemblymember Brian Maienschein

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted an update in a while, but wanted to let you know that this petition and ending child marriage and forced marriage is always foremost on my mind.  I have exciting news to share - I met with a fantastic staff member from Assemblymember Brian Maienschein's office - Rob Knudsen, and I'm excited to embark on a journey to reintroduce legislation here in California that will raise the marriage age to 18 without exceptions - no exceptions allowed whatsoever!  I am counting on the support of the Assemblymember's office, and will work with Unchained At Last, the only organization dedicated to ending forced and child marriage in the United States - to get this done.  

Again, thanks so much for your support and for signing my petition.  Please continue sharing the petition with your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.  Let's all spread awareness and end these human rights abuses.  Let's safeguard children, and protect them from being coerced into marriage.  We have to let kids be kids, not brides or grooms!
