Dear Supporters,
Four years ago, when Singapore was divided by fear and uncertainty, a small group of people who signed my petition “Do not let vaccination status divide us.” chose empathy. Likewise, by signing this petition about an urgent matter concerning answers we desperately seek after 4 years, you showed something precious —that you cared when it mattered most.
Today, I’m inviting you to care again.
Because while the world may have “moved on,” the consequences have not.
People feel helpless (bo bian), tired, numb, hopeless.
Many have retreated into bo chiap — the quiet apathy that whispers:
“Don’t ask.”
“Don’t think.”
“Don’t care.”
But apathy is how a nation loses its soul.
Apathy is how tragedies go unquestioned.
Apathy is how people — and truths — disappear.
Why Operation S.O.S Matters Now
Recently, I wrote a post on Facebook about the tragic death of little Megan Khung which went viral. The story of the five-year-old girl murdered in 2023. In that article, I shared a painful but necessary truth:
The solution to her death was not “more procedures” or “more systems.”
It was people with conscience.
People with courage.
People who care.
No number of manuals, checklists, or protocols can replace a human heart that dares to act.
And if systems do exist, they must be systems that empower people —to make mistakes, to speak up, to blow the whistle, instead of punishing them into silence.
While we mourn Megan, we cannot ignore the larger question:
What about the thousands who have died during the COVID years —
with no accountability, no clarity, and no honest answers?
What about the families left behind,
still waiting for closure?
Still waiting for truth?
Still waiting for someone in authority to say, “We were wrong”?
How long must it take before the truth about COVID-19 is acknowledged openly?
We cannot turn back the clock.
But we can choose what we do from here.
And that is why The Silent Roar exists —
as an urgent call to rise up,
so that more children, more families, more citizens
never have to suffer in silence again.

This book marks the beginning of Operation S.O.S.
It tells the real story of what happened from July 2021 to my arrest in January 2022 —including the 15 days I spent in the Lion’s Den, where I learned what fear cannot silence: the human conscience.
It was there that a quiet inner voice told me the path forward:
“School of Social Justice, School of Social Justice."
Not a traditional school,
but a living movement —
to teach Singaporeans how to stand up without fear,
how to speak without being silenced,
how to care deeply without apology,
how to defend their rights and dignity,
and how to restore the soul of our nation.
But I cannot build this alone.
I need all of you who cared once — to care again.
On 21 November, I will read from the book
and share the vision for Operation S.O.S:
a movement of conscience, compassion, and courage.
And as we begin this journey together, let us remember the deeper purpose:
To give birth to the Singapore we love to live in again —
not a hotel, but a home with a soul,
a home where people dare to care,
a home where little girls like Megan are protected,
a home where truth and conscience matter.
With hope, courage,
Iris Koh
