Finally! Ken Wyatt, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, has broken his silence on the issue of #FreeTheFlag in a statement from his office today declaring that "the Australian Government is aware of the concerns around the copyright of the Aboriginal Flag and would like to see a resolution to this matter…”
Us too Minister, us too. So let’s make this happen! The people want to see this issue resolved so that we can all continue celebrating and being proud of the Aboriginal Flag - free of charge.
Today we need you to help us make this happen. Can you help us grow this movement to 100,000 signatures by sharing the Free the Flag campaign with your circle of influence (your friends, families, peers and colleagues)?
While you’re creating awareness of this issue in your worlds, we’re lobbying AFL clubs to stand alongside the Collingwood Football Club as supporters of the Free the Flag Campaign. We’ll keep you updated on this over the coming days as the Sir Doug Nicholls Round gets closer.
Your support has helped get this issue on the front page of newspapers and caught the attention of the AFL. If we all take one action every day this week, we can ensure the Aboriginal Flag, our National Flag, is free to use for all of us.
