To all the breakfast lovers, Waffle House fans, overnight workers, and supporters of this movement — thank you. Today marks one month since we launched this petition, and we’re now just shy of 2,000 signatures. That’s a major milestone, and once we hit it, I’ll do everything I can to make contact with Waffle House HQ and send a clear message: Rhode Island is ready. This movement has become about much more than waffles. It’s about recognizing Rhode Island’s overnight economy and the hardworking people who keep it running — our EMTs, hospitality workers, first responders, and night-shift employees who deserve access to a hot, quality meal at 3 a.m., not just gas station food. Together, we’ve started an important conversation about the need for more overnight operations, new businesses, and stronger tourism opportunities across our state. Through media coverage, outreach, and community support, we’re showing elected officials and business leaders that Rhode Island is ready for growth.
