Dear Faking It fans,
It’s been a while, but we’re still here, and while the campaigning has slowed down a little, we still haven’t given up on our favorite show. The good news is that some things have changed at Viacom since Faking It got cancelled, and the people responsible for the cancellation have all left the network now. In the linked article, we discovered that the new MTV president, Chris McCarthy, has cancelled two scripted shows that were produced after the cancellation of Faking It on account of low ratings (after just one season). While both shows had much worse ratings than Faking It, the article also states that the producers of both shows were given the freedom to shop them to other networks—a freedom that was never explicitly given to Faking It. With this petition update, we would like to entreat current MTV president McCarthy to extend the same courtesy to Faking It. Since we have continued to actively petition Netflix to pick up the show, there is still a very real chance that they might be interested in buying it from MTV.
As always, you can help by spreading this message and continuing to promote this petition.
All best, and a happy Valentine’s day to everyone,
Dee, Patricia, Helena
