This petition is not personal. While it was brought about at this time by local circumstances, it really addresses a MUCH bigger issue. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH EQUINE VETERINARIANS TO SERVICE OUR HORSES! That is the issue! This petition was started in Maryland because it is where I live and where I have first-hand knowledge of the problem. I have gotten many responses from supporters saying that this veterinary shortage is being felt everywhere. Please share with all of your horse community contacts. It is time for the national level veterinary organizations to address this issue. Eliminating non-compete clauses from contracts is at least a first step.
