Thanks to all who have supported this effort to reverse this municipal abuse of power. If you are at all concerned about the importance of checks and balances being in place to prevent situations such as this from ever happening, please continue to pass this along to encourage further support!!!

As an update: As I wait for the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) ruling, I am proceeding with an Integrity Commission complaint. As luck would have it, the integrity Commissioner happens to also be the Township's lawyer who represented them at the OLT hearings. The plot just keeps thickening.

In any case, here is the letter I sent to the integrity commissioner, requesting a formal investigation into the conflict of interest the Township willingly accepts in it's dual role of potential polluter and development approver!!

------------------------

Dear Mr. Fleming,
Please find attached my formal complaint regarding a potential conflict of interest arising from the Township of North Grenville’s handling of my minor variance application for Monkman Road.
Given the Township’s ownership of the nearby landfill and its role in regulating my application, I am respectfully requesting an investigation into whether a breach of the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act or the Township’s Code of Conduct occurred.
I would also respectfully request that, due to your firm’s concurrent representation of the Township at the Ontario Land Tribunal, an independent reviewer or alternate Integrity Commissioner be considered if necessary to preserve the integrity and fairness of the process.
I look forward to your acknowledgment of this complaint and further instructions regarding next steps.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
Sincerely,
Mirco Buth
