9/28/22 Update

On 9/26, our team met with Joanne Kossuth, Chief Operations Officer at Lesley, to discuss our concerns and demands regarding dining services. She denied our request to record the meeting, but we’ve listed the highlights of our conversation and action items, as agreed upon during our meeting, below.

1. Joanne will be reaching out to Janet and requesting she make a statement detailing her acknowledgement of this petition and their plans to meet the subsequent demands by 9/30/22. If Janet cannot/will not make a statement, a statement will be made by another member of Lesley’s administration. 
2. Joanne cannot promise an opening date for Ava’s Cafe, but anticipates that the construction will be finished within two weeks. White Hall Dining will not be open during the 2022-2023 school year.
3. Until Ava’s Cafe reopens, regular emails with updates regarding the construction at Ava’s Cafe will be sent to all Lesley students. 
4. Until Ava’s Cafe reopens, Grab and Go meals on Doble Campus will be consistently restocked throughout the day, ensuring meals that meet various dietary restrictions are available.
5. Joanne will be looking into extending Porter Cafe Grill hours until 8pm (note: this may take 3-4 weeks due to union contracts), getting shuttles running on the weekends, and offering meal plan refunds to students on Doble Campus. Further updates on these issues will be posted as we receive information.
