We want to know. Your fans have the right to know. Do you genuinely care about our 'environment'? We liked to believe you did.

Your publicist Shawn SACHS was emailed on January 24, to ask you to finally take a public stand against the massacre of dolphins in Taiji Japan. And to question him on the possible reasons for your silence in the face of those ongoing atrocities. He has not answered. A few tweets have been sent out to you and Shawn. Your Twitter accounts, both his, and yours, clearly, are active. As is Shawn SACHS' email. But not a soul. Is Shawn SACHS still your Publicist?

Your Foundation's website (leonardodicaprio.com) states that you are currently serving on the Boards of the 'World Wildlife Fund', The 'Natural Resources Defense Council', The 'International Fund for Animal Welfare', and 'Global Green USA'. Are you still personally active on those Boards? Have you engaged with them lately to discuss and address TAIJI? 

The Mission Statement of your Foundation reads: "Dedicated to protecting Earth’s last wild places and fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world.' 

Would you qualify as 'harmonious' the relationship between the TAIJI butchers and the dolphins that they are literally slaughtering in droves as we write those very lines?  

Your Foundation's website further reads: 'In tandem with LDF’s philanthropic efforts, the foundation uses digital media and Leonardo’s website & social media channels with 8 Million+ followers, to inform and rally the public on specific calls-to-action. LDF also works behind the scenes to encourage collaboration between organizations, other celebrities and decision-makers'. 

To date all we have observed are Tweets promoting The 'Wolf Of Wall Street', or your appearance on Saturday NightLive. Your TITANIC Stunt with Jonah Hill on SNL has generated hundreds if not thousands of tweets, posts and articles with pictures in mainstream print and online, high reach media. Media coverage seen by millions of people that could have made an impact to alert and inspire the world to take a stand against the atrocious crimes presentely perpetrated in Japan - and elsewhere in the world.

Of course please correct us if we are wrong, to this day we have not read or heard ONE public statement from you regarding TAIJI.  We were waiting, and we were hoping. Hoping that you would seize the opportunity of your 'Wolf of Wall Street' publicity trip to Japan with Martin Scorsese to take a stand and rally your Japanese fans and the Japanese opinion around a certain idea of Mankind moving forward. The Japanese Times Newspaper has taken a very courageous stand. As have a few public figures. We want to thank them here from the bottom of our hearts. 

But from you, nothing. Why?

Your Twitter caption reads 'Actor and Environmentalist'. One great Actor, yes. But an 'Environmentalist'? At the most crucial times, when the world could bring about change through our voices joining together over 'Social Media' like never before, when the TAIJI abomination could be brought to an end, at last as well as by the same token, all orcas' captivity across the world, your voice is missing badly. Not your millions. Your public voice.

True, effective lobbying and results are often achieved 'behind the scenes'. But there are times when sheer barbary calls for courage and out loud public condemnation. A Diplomat like Caroline KENNEDY has had the courage to speak up. Will a respected global public figure like yours leave her alone in that fight? Japan is a great country, with a great People. It deserves our respect and our love. But it also deserves our honesty. Staying silent will not make Japan any favours. The Japanese People are our Friends. It is time for them to stand up and seek accountability from their Government. 

Would you please come forward and tell your fans and the world where you stand on this pressing issue? Will you go back to Japan and Speak Up to help put a definitive end to this tragedy? Will you write to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his First Lady Akie Abe? Will you phone up Matt DAMON who narrated 'The Cove' back in 2009 and announce with him a joint, international Press Conference from Tokyo to alert the Japanese Public Opinion? Will you let the world know that you are outraged?

We understand acting is your first love. We know you are a busy man. We know the Oscars' Ceremony is next month. But the real world out there, one made of real flesh and blood, is screaming for your help and for your voice. Now, Leo.

As Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'Take the time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in'. 

We are asking you to Speak Up Now.
