Think about the mink!

Think about the mink!
The Issue
Mink Fur Farming still continues in Ireland in this day and age with the support of the Irish Government. This is a cruel and inhumane practice carried out in multiple Mink farms all over Ireland. These innocent animals are kept in tiny cages in brutal conditions which eventually causes them to become insane. The only way to farm their fur is to kill them.
The death of these animals by inhalation of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide is painful. Animals can suffer from seizures for more than 12 seconds, and then collapse. Carbon dioxide is irritating and, as with carbon monoxide, causes edema and bleeding in the lungs. This occurs whilst the animals are still conscious.
Minks are solitary animals who have large territories. By forcing them to live in cramped cages in close proximity to other minks makes them agitated and violent.
Most of their fur farmed is exported out of Ireland as retailers refuse to sell it. Did you know that their fur is used for false eyelashes?
