Bring back the ThinkPad traditional 7 rows keyboard layout!
ThinkPad keyboard is renowned for its great keyboard layout for almost 20 years. The layout is just perfect and nobody complains. Mostly, ThinkPad user only complains on how bad the LCD screen, but nobody complained about the current keyboard layout. Rather than improving the LCD screen quality, Lenovo decided to redesign the keyboard layout from 7 rows into 6 rows in the upcoming T and X series. And even worse, they implement the cheap and lousy chiclet key on it.
Actually Lenovo already have Edge series that features 6 rows keyboard, chiclet style, glossy LCD screen, etc. Please let those things in Edge series, and do not mess up T and X series with those things. The ThinkPad in IBM era used to be the leader in business class laptop. But now, Lenovo seem to ruin ThinkPad brand and put it into cheap consumer grade laptop.
As the Lenovo motto says, "For those who do", the reality is far from it. Lenovo should change it into, "For those who don't", because Lenovo does not listen what their ThinkPad users really want. It seems that what Lenovo does is just to follow and copy the Apple Macbook design. Lenovo, please listen to us. Please listen what we want because we are your customers.
Therefore, with this petition, we want Lenovo to put back the traditional 7 rows keyboard and get rid of chiclet style keys in the upcoming ThinkPad products. We will be glad and thankful if Lenovo will never mess up the traditional ThinkPad design.
