I’m overwhelmed by the support this petition has garnered. As of the time of this writing we have over 4,600 supporters. Now that we have the numbers what do we do? There are 3 easy things each of us can do that will yield great dividends. Can you image Len Jessup receiving 4,600 emails in his inbox? We can do this. 1) Tell everyone about the petition. Share it on social media. Tell your coworkers. If every supporter can get one other person to sign we will be well on our way to 10,000. https://www.change.org/p/len-jessup-notmyreb-makerebgreatagain-7b4c77b0-896e-4a6d-86c6-b5809d403ff9?recruiter=217221841&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition 2) Send an email Len Jessup, Rick Trachok, and the media representatives. I’ve included a default email below for you to copy and paste, but feel free to write your own. Relevant emails also included below. Len Jessup: president@unlv.edu Rick Trachok: rick_trachok@nshe.nevada.edu Tony Allen: tony.allen@unlv.edu Andy Grossman: andy.grossman@unlv.edu 3) Feeling ambitious? Give them a call and tell them how you feel! Len Jessup: 702-895-3201 Rick Trachok: 775-321-5513 What else can you do? That’s up to you, but you should also join our affiliated facebook page Keep HeyReb and join the community. https://www.facebook.com/KeepHeyReb/ [NAME], I do not appreciate how the new Hey Reb logo was forced on me and my community without any input. I, along with thousands of others am very displeased with the new spirit mark. It’s been less than 2 days and almost 5,000 people have signed the petition to have it removed. https://www.change.org/p/len-jessup-notmyreb-makerebgreatagain-7b4c77b0-896e-4a6d-86c6-b5809d403ff9?recruiter=217221841&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition The new Spirit Mark is confusing and is laced with so many symbols that Hey Reb is almost unrecognizable. The new logo has abandoned Las Vegas locals and now represents Las Vegas tourists. I am not interested in buying any merchandise bearing this new spirit mark. National and local news outlets have made a mockery of the new Hey Reb logo and it’s time to respond. http://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/look-unlv-unveils-a-new-logo-but-is-it-actually-an-improvement/ https://www.sbnation.com/2017/6/29/15893418/new-unlv-rebels-logo http://news3lv.com/news/local/new-unlv-logo-sparks-mixed-reactions-from-students-and-community Retracting this mark is not unprecedented. In fact just this year the L.A. Chargers retracted their mark when confronted by disgruntled fans. Regards, A concerned fan
