The Galapagos Islands are the legendary bio-diverse Pacific islands which were a massive influence behind Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. They are an unspoiled paradise full of unique species of animal and indigenous peoples. These islands are the last place on Earth which should be intruded upon by the war machine of the world's biggest  superpower.

We call upon Ecuador to withdraw its permission for this base. We say put the beauty of nature, and of these islands that belong to the world's heritage, out of the reach of war and weapons. Furthermore we call upon the United Nations to put laws in place that will protect The Galapagos Islands and its biodiversity in perpetuity.
