The Governor has until tonight to veto or line item this disaster of a budget. Please let your voice be heard. Call the Governor and let him know that Prodigy works and he needs to get the legislators back to reinstate its funding. Federal sources looking at Return on Investment have found that afterschool-prevention programming on average saves the state $4.88 for every $1 spent (SAMHSA). Most of this funding would be in the form of detention centers, law enforcement and the court system. Given this calculation Florida will spend $22,448,000 instead of $4,600,000. This is simple math.
