There are many, many animals being neglected and becoming strays, hungry, and ill. Many big Cities with strong economies have funding for this purpose, but small cities who lack funding will not be able to do so. I believe if the authority could place a ballot measure State-wide to add just 0.25% - 0.50% additional sales tax to create a no-kill shelter for stray animals, this will enable us to take care of the strays, and even create jobs for people who need it, or who love working with animals. The funds could also be used to provide vouchers to spay and neuter animals, and to take care of the shelter animals.
