To everyone who has signed this petition so far: thank you.

Your signature is not just a name on a screen , it is a stand against non-consensual suffering in India.

Now we need you to take the next step.

We are organising a public awareness campaign in Kolkata to bring this issue out of the internet and into the real world.

The media will be there.

Event Details

What: Public Awareness Campaign for Legalising Voluntary Active Euthanasia in India

Date: Sunday, 19th April

Time: From 12 PM onwards

Where: Victoria Memorial, South Gate (Opposite PG/SSKM Hospital), Kolkata

We will be standing peacefully with posters and banners, talking to people about the right to a dignified, painless exit and asking them to sign this petition on the ground. These signatures and photos from the event will strengthen the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) we are preparing for the Supreme Court of India.

If you have ever felt that India’s laws on euthanasia are cruel, hypocritical, or simply outdated , this is your chance to do more than agree online.

We are probably one of the only NGOs in India openly and directly working for the legalisation of voluntary active euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. We cannot do this alone.

How you can help on the 19th:

  • Come to Victoria Memorial South Gate at 12 PM.
  • Stay for at least 1–2 hours if you can.
  • Hold a placard, talk to people, help collect signatures
  • Bring a friend, a colleague, or a family member who supports this cause
Every person who stands with us on the 19th sends a clear message:
that no competent adult should be forced by the State to endure suffering they did not choose and do not want.
