Dear supporters,

First and foremost, THANK YOU. In just over a month, our petition to create a Bodega Cat Certification Program has gained incredible momentum, reaching over 8,000 signatures! Your support has helped bring attention to this important issue affecting both NYC's beloved bodega cats and the small businesses that house them.

What's happened so far:
CBS News, PIX11, NY1, and several other media outlets have covered our petition
City Council members have been notified of our growing support
We've seen hundreds of thoughtful comments sharing personal stories about why bodega cats matter

What's next:
The response to this petition has been overwhelming. We've been approached by several influential individuals and organizations who want to help turn this proposal into reality. While we can't share all the details just yet, know that some exciting developments are in the works.

Our immediate goal is to continue building support while we develop the pilot program framework. We're currently in discussions with potential partners who can help implement the certification standards, provide veterinary support, and create the sustainable funding model outlined in our petition.

  • How you can help:
Keep sharing the petition - we're aiming for 10,000 signatures!
  • If you have connections to NYC Council members, veterinary professionals, or bodega associations, please reach out to us.
  • Share your bodega cat stories and photos with us on social media (@bodegacatsofnewyork)
  • This grassroots movement is proving that New Yorkers care deeply about finding balanced solutions that work for everyone - the cats, the shop owners, and our communities.

Thank you again for your continued support. We'll keep you updated as things progress!

With gratitude, Dan Rimada
