Mise à jour sur la pétitionLegalise cannabis in Trinidad and TobagoWhere do we go from here?

Blessed love, ganja community.

Once again, I and I thank you for signing the petition and getting this ball rolling. However, we are stalled at decriminalisation without a legal supply. The Cannabis Control Authority Act is now law, yet the Government has refused to appoint a board and designate funding for the setting up of a headquarters for the authority. Meanwhile, Jamaica has already earned billions in forex through its ganja industry. Farms, like the one in Negril pictured above, continue to generate revenue streams that attract foreign exchange, investment and visitors. Jamaica now boasts more than TWENTY dispensaries, all operating legally and in full compliance with the regulations set out by Jamaica's Cannabis Licensiing Authority. Small farmers have been given a bligh with regards to licence fees and are now an integral part of the thriving ganja and tourism industries in Jamaica. Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada, Antigua, St Vincent and St Kitts are moving swiftly to follow suit.

We are the only ones who are not benefitting from this lucrative market. Instead, gangs and cartels are making money selling potentially tainted kush from Venezuela and Colombia. Meanwhile, hundreds of our citizens are dying from cancer. They could be helped with RSO and other cannabis products.

What are your thoughts about the state of play? Any ideas on how we should move forward?

Blessings,

Nazma
