The playhouse build by 14-year-old Elise Truchan should be allowed to remain in place.  

The structure has wrongly been classified as an "accessory building."  It should more accurately be classified as "play equipment," which would not require any building permits nor the approval of neighbors.  No utilities are supplied to the treehouse, so it is difficult to understand why it would be so classified in the first place.

 It is our responsibility as good citizens and as good parents to encourage creativity and industry in our children, not to destroy their dreams..  The township has no compelling interest in the removal of a playhouse built by and for a child, and the case for doing so rests solely upon a convoluted interpretation of law.

Please do the right thing.  The nation is watching.
