Bottled water should be withdrawn from sale in the LUU Co-op, as it was previously from Essentials. This issue is especially significant given the Union's #2023PlasticFree campaign.

The commitment to zero single-use plastic was a landmark statement from LUU on a national scale. To see our union shop regress to old practices within only a few months of this pledge is disappointing to many of us.

The decision to not sell bottled water should have been communicated in the negotiations surrounding the transition from Essentials. To see the Co-op apparently flaunt a ban that stood for 10 years is incredibly frustrating.

We ask that the ban on bottled water is reinstated promptly, so that the amount of needless, harmful plastics being put into the world can be reduced as far as possible.
