We're currently in a period were the human population's daily consumption is having a drastic effect on our environment. There is currently a problem with waste on Hyde park. With a high density student population on Hyde Park, many houses having 5+ tenants there is a lot of recyclable waste going to landfill.

Glass is not recyclable in our green recycling bins which means glass is being being sent to landfill unnecessarily. I believe by increasing the amount of bottle bank facilities on Hyde Park that we can reduce the amount of general waste which students are producing.

I believe that it is the duty of the Leeds City Council, Leeds University and Leeds Beckett University to take action on this and increase the amount of bottle bins for students and locals to be able to recycle more conveniently and efficiently.
