The opening of Leander ISD's elementary 27 affords a beautiful opportunity to name a building in recognition of those who contributed to the great state of education that exists in Leander ISD.  At the last board meeting, this name was discussed, but the school was named after a subdivision.   This is so hard to accept, especially when such a worthy candidate as Nancy Tarvin was nominated.

The board has renamed buildings before.  "Canyonlands" middle school became  Canyon Ridge Middle School. Tumbleweed HS became Vandegrift. Don Tew Elementary was renamed Grandview Hills Elementary (and the PAC named after Don).

PLEASE sign this petition so that we can honor Nancy before the passage of time destroys our chance to honor her 25 years of service to the betterment of and the children of Leander ISD (and 36 in education).  We need you to sign this within a week so we do not miss the next board meeting.

In her role as an educational leader in the Leander School District for 25 years, Nancy was a gifted problem solver and knew just how to heal a broken spirit. Her brilliant mind was present in everything she touched. She knew exactly how to inspire, educate, and bring people together. Her legacy will continue in the many educators and students she impacted.
