We, the undersigned students and advocates, urge school leaders to enhance leadership awareness within schools. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to learn responsible leadership skills, enabling them to make better decisions and become effective leaders of the future. Through leadership awareness, schools have the potential to help students become self-assured, accountable, and engaged citizens. 

Having said that school, being the primary formal institution for education and learning, it is where youth learns the basic knowledge on different aspects especially on politics in Senior High School. Voting has been practiced ever since we started going to school. It has been one of the most used ways to elect and have one decision as a whole. Usually, it started being practiced in school communities, starting from classroom-based elections for officers up to the large scales of political landscapes. With that being said, it is essential for us to be informed on whom to vote for and what are the qualities we need to look into when electing a leader. Not only that we are exercising our rights early to be future voters but also, it also enhances our critical thinking and the skills of evaluating when choosing a person that would lead. Lastly, this issue is important to greatly highlight that the people of a certain community are the ones who are more powerful than the candidates who are running for a certain position.

We urgently call upon young people, schools, communities, and local leaders to take immediate action by:

• Raising Awareness on Responsible Leadership: Encouraging young people to understand the importance of choosing leaders that are responsible, ethical, accountable, and committed to serving others.
• Empowering Young Leaders: Encouraging the youth to use their voices, skills, and ideas to take part in making positive changes in their communities.
• Promoting Wise Decision Making: Encouraging the youth to carefully evaluate a person’s character, qualifications, actions, and values before supporting them as leaders.
