Ever woke up and didn’t know what that day consist of. Didn’t know that day was gonna change your life forever. But not for the better.... but for the worse. In 2002 I lost my uncle to the system 25 years to life & me being 5 at the time I never understood why I didn’t see my uncle in my grandma house again. Why he never was in his room why was things still there but he never returned. He was a early teenager when they took my uncle. It’s been 16 years since the incident happened. And my uncle explains to me how he see ppl coming & going in & out of jail for years all his life! And not once has he had a chance to even smell the fresh air outside those gates. Not once has he had a chance to have a kid, drive a car, buy his mom a house all because he didn’t know what that day was going to consist of and since that day we been hurting. He been hurting. We out here so our pain can never compare to his! If it’s a correctional institution how long does it take for someone to be corrected? How can you compare a teenage mind to a grown man mind? You only learn as you get older you only become more wiser the older you get. He’s a grown man now, he’s so smart and humble. And he try to hide the pain but he tell me how he feel he tell me how people don’t answer for him, lie to him, run off with his stuff and he can’t do nothing about it besides sit in jail. He talk about how people do stuff so wrong and how he just want to take care of his family but can’t because he’s behind bars doing 25 years to life how do you sentence a 13 year old 25 years to life..... my grandmother had to get carried out the court room on a stretcher because they took her baby her youngest son imagine getting your only son took from you your heart ripped out your chest and you can’t do nothing about it. He wasn’t even offered a second chance and it’s not fair it’s so not fair! � I cry so much because I know he deserve to be out here with us he wasn’t a bad person at all, didn’t even smoke drink, have a record or anything and they took him from us � my grandma life hasn’t been the same since and nobody understands his life hasn’t been the same since and nobody cares! His story deserves to be heard & he deserves a second chance I’d give everything up just to have my uncle back & to see that look on my grandma face how she use to be so happy to have everybody under one roof, things hasn’t been the same since.
