WE ALL PAY FOR EACH COMPANION ANIMAL that enters this and other shelters via our tax dollars. This bill insures no more barbaric killing of healthy companion animals in the state of Florida. No more lost pets being killed. No more pets die waiting to be seen by a vet. THIS BILL DID NOT PASS LAST TIME DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST. PLEASE PASS THIS BILL!!!

Volusia County's largest animal shelter has recently and suddenly become nearly void of pets available for adoption. Yet they are still killing animals. These empty cages are not due to low intake. Anyone who goes there in need of shelter and surrender of their pet, for whatever reason, is faced with signing a form allowing them to euthanize. I usually ask why. But with HB 515 on the table, the why can wait. We MUST take action and PASS HB 515. It will not only insure that Volusia County's largest shelter will have to give these and all Companion Animals, including the lost or missing, that come through their doors, respect and dignity but also given every reasonable opportunity to get out of their facility healthy, happy and ALIVE. It also has strict provisions for euthanasia, health care, and basic needs such as food and water. We already pay for it. NOW is the time to get our Volusia County and other high kill shelters strict laws they must follow to get each pet a home.Florida Companion Animal Protection Act
