Following the Laurentian University Board of Governors meeting on February 12th 2015, it was concluded that Laurentian University Barrie will be phasing out by May 2019. Social Work undergraduates are able to complete their degree in Barrie by May 2019. However, Bachelor of Arts and BBA students are unable to complete their undergraduate studies in Barrie after the 16/17 term. Over 200 BA/BBA students must either complete their degree through online/distance learning, relocate to Laurentian Sudbury or switch to another university. The Laurentian Students' Union is proposing this petition to create equality for all Laurentian Barrie students to complete their degree's in Barrie by May 2019.
