It is time for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to create a center for the Latinx Community. As the Latinx population continues to grow on this campus, the lack of representation is becoming more and more apparent. There is a proposal to take into consideration the creation of a Carolina Latinx Center for this campus, but it is troubling that the future of this space will be decided on without input from the individuals it seeks to represent. This has to change and it is our job as students, alumni, faculty, and staff to demand support and infrastructure from the university.

We deserve more representation. We deserve a space. We deserve a voice.
