BIG THANK YOU

Thank you for everybody (there were approximately 500 of you) who came to the Market Cross today to sing the revised version of Jerusalem in the rain this lunch-time. Political affiliations were put to one side; Charles Hazlewood, the renowned conductor, conducted the crowd; James Heappey, our MP was there, as was his predecessor, Tessa Munt; Michael Eavis of the Glastonbury Festival was there and spoke to the BBC; several shops closed so their staff could join in. The driving rain did not hamper spirits. Great to see the town come together for this important protest.
