On February 26, 2019, official reports surfaced about the racial slur Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti- Harford County Representative- made about Prince George's County. She referred to Prince George's County- a predominately African American County- as the "N***** District." When she was confronted about the situation she made the statement that " I'm sure everyone has used it." Though she has been stripped of her leadership positions in the state legislator, the fact that she still has legislative authority over the citizens of Maryland is of grave concern. Legislation that is voted upon in the State house,  impact the day to day lives of everyone in the state of Maryland, including the "N***** district" that she feels so strongly about. Being cognizant of her blatant racism makes it very clear what her preface is behind voting on legislation. This slur has negatively impacted the residents of Prince George's County and brings unrest to know that she still has a vote on things that impact us. We cannot allow her to serve another three years being aware of her disposition of African Americans. With that said, we call for appropriate leadership to relieve Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti from her duties as representative of District 34A- Harford Coutny.
