A recent proposal to construct a childrens playground within the confines of Emo Court and grounds has been doing the rounds on facebook. Firstly, I am a father with five children. I would never object to public amenities especially when said amenities are for childrens benefit but the proposal to construct a playground in Emo Court grounds would take away from the experience families seek when venturing about the grounds. The park is one big playground and this is its primary attraction. Children can run, jump, climb, hide and go bug hunting in relative safety while parents get to sample the beauty and serenity of the park whilst strolling aimlessly through the grounds and gardens. By all means build a playground for Emo Village but not within the confines of the Park. Please sign this petition and preserve our Heritage for future generations.
